Hon. Kip Tom

Ambassador, U.S. Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome

Kip Tom is the United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome, with the rank of Ambassador. He is an agribusiness leader who transformed a seventh-generation farm into one of the largest commodity businesses in the Midwestern United States, launching international operations and deploying new technologies. Ambassador Tom grew up on his family’s farm in the community his ancestors homesteaded in 1837. His business has grown to over 25,000 acres with locations in the U.S. and Argentina. Ambassador Tom served as a member of the board of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. He is involved in several philanthropic organizations focusing on food security and development domestically and globally. He is also active in supporting the next generations of farmers, having served as a trustee of the National 4-H Foundation and a member of the National Future Farmers of America Foundation Board of Directors.
