Maharashtra Hybrid Seed Company Limited

The Maharashtra Hybrid Seed Company Limited (Mahyco) in Jalna, India, has hosted five interns since 2011.

Established in 1964, Mahyco strives to produce high quality, hybrid seeds through improved research and development.

Mahyco carries out research and development in molecular biology, seed health, cytogenetics, pathology, entomology, molecular virology, and plant transformation.

Interns at Mahyco work alongside renowned international researchers and experts - like Dr. Usha Barwale Zehr, Dr. Bharat Char and others - in the fields and villages near Jalna.

The students also have the opportunity to volunteer at the Shri Ganapati Netralaya eye hospital and travel around India with their host families and colleagues to see the Godavari river, Shree Ganesh temple, Pan Chakki waterfall, Matsyodari Devi temple, Aurangabad caves, Yamuna river, Chandigarh Monument, and the Bibi Ka Maqbara memorial.
