Practical Policy & Program Action: Visualization tool for mainstreaming nutrition within critical food systems impact pathways at the country level | World Vision & FAO
This side event will provide a practical point of engagement for active participants within the 5 countries in which FAO and World Vision developed a technical guidance note series. FAO and World Vision recently partnered to develop as set of technical guidance notes (publication forthcoming before fall 2021) for primary use by national policymakers and program implementers. Each guidance note seeks to define key policy and program priorities for mainstreaming nutrition within key food subsectors (fisheries, forestry, crops, livestock) across select sub-Saharan African contexts. Country partners included Kenya, Uganda Eswatini, and Ghana.
Presenters will briefly describe the key concepts underpinning the critical impact pathways approach to analyzing food system entry points for nutrition program and policy action. Thereafter, presenters will demonstrate these concepts using the accompanying analysis and decision-making visualization tool designed for national decision-makers. The second half of the event will provide smaller group opportunities to test the use of the visualization tool with specific food systems sub sectors based upon audience/participant interests.
FAO and World Vision strongly encourages participation from other food systems stakeholders across sub-Saharan Africa to participate in this event.
