Innovations in Partnerships in Global Fisheries and Aquaculture | Michigan State University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources

10/20/2021 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Virtual - https://msu.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_v5k9CM8ARtyeOTpMb94t6g

Partnerships are critical for building sustainable and resilient fisheries and aquaculture systems for enhanced food and nutritional security and livelihoods. Yet, we rarely reflect deeply upon partnerships. We lack a framework for understanding the diversity of partnerships involved in aquatic food systems around the world, their objectives, and the factors that contribute to their success (or failure). The purpose of this side event is to envision a framework for evaluating and strengthening partnerships’ role in promoting nutrition and gender sensitive aquatic food systems. A global panel of distinguished experts representing diverse sectors will draw from their extensive experiences and share their perspectives on “innovative partnerships” for building sustainable and resilient fisheries and aquaculture. The panel will discuss different models of in-country, regional and international partnerships, North-South, and South-South partnerships engaging diverse stakeholders from public and private sector and international organizations.
