The U.S. State Department recently publicized the work of Dr. Modadugu Gupta, the renowned Indian scientist and humanitarian.
Dr. Gupta, who has improved nutrition and incomes for masses of small farmers in Asia, achieved his success by combining the skills of a scientist and of a rural development worker. His work in spreading fish farming has brought particular benefits to women in Bangladesh.
