World Food Prize Receives Mention in Popular CBS Drama
CBS television drama Madam Secretary made mention of the World Food Prize in its latest episode.
(Des Moines, Iowa) November 19, 2015 – While the World Food Prize has been internationally renowned for decades in the fields of agriculture and nutrition, its recognition has grown to reach a wider audience in popular culture as seen in the latest episode of Madam Secretary on CBS. The popular television drama made mention of the World Food Prize when the show’s star, Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (played by Téa Leoni), informed her speechwriter, Matthew (Matt) Mahoney (played by Geoffrey Arend), that he would be composing her speech for the World Food Prize luncheon.
The reference was made in the episode “You Say You Want a Revolution,” which aired this past Sunday, November 15.
