Global Education Programming


Working with the Director of Careers and Development, this intern takes on significant responsibility in facilitating youth programs, particularly with the Borlaug-Ruan International Interns. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, have strong oral and written communication skills, a background in STEM education, and attention to detail.   • Reviewing and editing the Borlaug-Ruan intern research reports and preparing them for website posting
  • Assisting with travel arrangements (visa application, flight arrangements, site logistics, etc.) for Borlaug-Ruan Interns
  • Update the Borlaug-Ruan Intern alumni database
  • Coordinate outreach and planning for the Global Youth Institute
  • Assist with the entire Borlaug-Ruan Internship application, selection and placement process

Interns work at each stage of The Global Youth Institue, held in October, which draws in hundreds of high school students, educators and leaders in the field.

National Expansion


Currently, the World Food Prize operates Youth Institutes in 20 states, with the goal of having a youth institute in every state. Each semester, a highly qualified undergraduate or graduate student is chosen to assist with promoting and expanding World Food Prize youth programs. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, have strong oral and written communication skills, a background in STEM education, and attention to detail. This intern works closely with the Directors of National Education Programs (Keegan Kautzy and Libby Crimmings) to assist with educational programming and outreach.   • Assisting with in-state outreach for each state with a youth institute
  • Building relationships with teachers, students, parents, partners, advisors and other supporters
  • Coordinate media outreach - creating media advisories and press releases promoting the Youth Programs and interesting stories about participants
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of the State Youth Institutes​​​​​​
