Special Assistant to the President
Meghan Walters joined the World Food Prize Foundation in 2015 as a George Washington Carver Intern. She also served on the event staff at the Hall of Laureates. In 2019, Ms. Walters was named Special Assistant to the President.
Ms. Walters is responsible for planning and arranging Ambassador Quinn’s international travel agenda and domestic speaking engagements. In addition, she manages his appointment schedule and correspondence and oversees select administrative procedures and special projects.
Ms. Walters graduated from Drake University in the spring of 2018. She earned a B.A. in international relations and a B.A. in public relations. During her undergraduate career Ms. Walters spent an academic semester abroad in Morocco where she studied Arabic and Islam with a focus on gender and geopolitics.
Before joining the World Food Prize, Ms. Walters spent a year in Bulgaria on a Fulbright grant through the State Department. There, she taught English in the local high school, was the coach of the speech and debate team, and studied Bulgarian.
