Director of the Iowa Hunger Summit and Community Outreach
As Director of the Iowa Hunger Summit and Community Outreach at the World Food Prize Foundation, Madeline is responsible for coordinating the Iowa Hunger Directory, organizing the annual Iowa Hunger Summit, supporting the Director of Planning with the Borlaug Dialogue international symposium and Laureate Announcement Ceremony, in addition to assisting with partner relations.
Madeline has been actively involved in many endeavors at the World Food Prize Foundation since early 2015. As a George Washington Carver Intern, she worked closely with our Directors of Planning and Iowa Education Programs in coordinating and facilitating the Borlaug Dialogue international symposium and Iowa Youth Institute.
After the conclusion of her internship, Madeline returned to assist with various activities, continually expanding her understanding of our dynamic organization. In the spring of 2016, Madeline focused her efforts on strengthening the organization’s contact outreach, allowing her to become familiarized with our organization’s diverse network of professionals and organizations. She has also enjoyed being active with our youth programs as a member of the World Food Prize Board of Reviewers.
Ms. Goebel briefly lived in Grenoble, France, where she attended the Université Stendhal, studying language and multiculturalism. Additionally, in Grenoble, she volunteered at Maison de l’International, working to strengthen French understanding of the United States. Following her studies in France, Ms. Goebel spent nearly four months living throughout the country of Cameroon where her studies concentrated on the themes of social pluralism and development.
Madeline holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in Economics and a certificate in French from Drake University.
