Special Assistant to the President
Abby Johnson began working with the World Food Prize Foundation in the Fall of 2016 as a George Washington Carver intern. She worked closely with the Director of Communications and Events during this time, assisting in the event work leading up to the 30th Anniversary Laureate Award Ceremony.
In 2017, Abby was named Special Assistant to the President. In this role she works with the President of the Foundation managing his schedule and correspondence. In addition, Abby supports the the Foundation staff in assisting with the planning and implementation of the organization's yearly programs.
Before accepting her position at the World Food Prize, Abby worked as an event intern for the Chicago Bears and Prevent Child Abuse Iowa, helping to organize and execute their annual Child Abuse Prevention and Family Support Conference.
During her undergraduate education, Abby served with the Girl Scouts of America as the Vice President of Community Service for Kappa Delta at Illinois Wesleyan.
Abby graduated from Iowa State University 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Event Management. Abby has traveled internationally to England, France and Spain.
