World Food Prize Welcomes New Director of Finance and Administration

MARCH 6, 2008 - Rajashrie (Raji) Bhasker has joined the staff of the World Food Prize Foundation as the new Director of Finance and Administration. Raji holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Madras and a MBA in Accounting from Cleveland State University. She also has a CPA certification and is a Chartered Accountant from India. Raji started her career in 1985 with Price Waterhouse, Madras, India, where she worked for 5 years. She then worked for two years for the Government of Seychelles before moving to the USA in 1992. Raji’s experience in the US has mainly been in Insurance and Reinsurance as well as Investment Advisory services. She last worked for the General Reinsurance Group, a Berkshire Hathaway company, for 10 years, and served as Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer, among other positions held within the Group.
Raji left General Reinsurance Corporation in 2005 to take a break from the corporate world and spend time with her family, as well as pursue other personal interests. She currently lives with her family in West Des Moines, IA. _____________________________________________________________
