Press Registration for 2020 Virtual Borlaug Dialogue International Symposium is Now Open

09/23/2020

Press registration for the 2020 Borlaug Dialogue International Symposium, held virtually October 12-16, is now open.

The three-day conference annually brings together over 1,200 people from more than 65 countries and has been called "the premier conference in the world on global agriculture."

Due to COVID-19, the Borlaug Dialogue will be held virtually through a series of live video sessions and discussion forums. Registrants will participate in an incredible array of scientific experts, policy leaders, business executives, non-governmental organization representatives and farmers, who will discuss critical issues related to improving resilience in global food systems.

The theme for this year’s virtual Dialogue, “Breaking New Ground: Building Resilience Today for Improved Global Food Systems Tomorrow,” examines four major vulnerabilities or “cracks” in food systems: Climate Change, Finance & Investment, Nutrition, and Equity & Access,. Actions and outcomes for advancing food security and system resilience are the main focus.

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of World Food Prize Week, various types of live, half-day sessions will be livestreamed, including panel discussions, roundtable sessions, keynote addresses, and workshops. Participants will connect through a discussion board feature on the virtual conference platform, Whova. Students of the Global Youth Institute will participate directly in presentations and discussions on key topics.
