BRAC’s outstanding contribution to reducing hunger and poverty is being recognised by the World Food Prize Foundation this year, as its founder Sir Fazle Hasan Abed will be honoured as the 2015 World Food Prize Laureate. He will also speak at the upcoming Borlaug Dialogue event in Des Moines from 14 – 16th October 2015. The Foundation annually awards individuals tackling “the greatest challenge in human history” – feeding 9.6 billion sustainably by 2050.

Along with a special panel of experts on food security and agriculture, Ambassador Kenneth Quinn, President of the World Food Prize and the BRAC USA team will be answering selected questions for one hour later next month. Just tweet us using #FoodPrize15 and your question could be answered live.
Topics for debate will include:
- What makes agriculture such a powerful tool for poverty reduction?
- Why does the empowerment of women and young people make a big impact?
- How can issues in delivery of technologies to smallholders be overcome?
