Visitors can now explore architecture, artwork, exhibits, and global issues five days per week.
Des Moines, Iowa (June 3, 2014) – The World Food Prize Hall of Laureates has expanded its public hours, starting today. Visitors will now be welcomed to the building on both Saturdays and Sundays, as well as Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, free of charge.
The World Food Prize Foundation trained an additional 60 volunteer docents, who have become experts on the architecture, artwork, and the global stories behind it all, in order to welcome more visitors and guide them as they explore interactive educational exhibits, tour the building, and learn about Iowa’s history and our current global challenges in feeding the world.
New Hours:
Walk-In Visitors:
- Tuesdays: Guided Tours, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tours are given at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., Noon and 1:30 p.m.
- Saturdays: Self-Guided Tours, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Docents available to talk with visitors.
- Sundays: Self-Guided Tours, Noon-3 p.m. Docents available to talk with visitors.
Pre-Booked Tour Groups: Wednesdays and Thursdays have been reserved for group tours scheduled 10 days in advance:
