Press Registration

Accredited members of the media can register for the 2012 World Food Prize events, Oct. 16-20, by visiting www.worldfoodprize.org/register and entering the promotional code P54U12. All members of the press who plan to attend must register.

On the registration form, please mark the events you intend to cover, to help us accommodate all media. Please also note whether you are interested in covering the Laureate Award Ceremony at the Iowa Capitol; seats are limited and you will need a ticket to enter. Press are required to pay for all meals at the symposium, and can do so through the registration form.

We collect your email address so that you receive the most updated news and information about events. The Press section of this web site will also be continuously updated, so check back for more details.

The World Food Prize was conceived by Dr. Norman E. Borlaug, recipient of the 1970 Nobel Peace Prize. Since 1986, The World Food Prize has honored outstanding individuals who have made vital contributions to improving the quality, quantity or availability of food throughout the world. Laureates have been recognized from Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Cuba, Denmark, Ethiopia, India, Mexico, Sierra Leone, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United Nations and the United States. In 1990, Des Moines businessman and philanthropist John Ruan assumed sponsorship of The Prize and established The World Food Prize Foundation, located in Des Moines, Iowa.
