Megan Forgrave

 Megan Forgrave joined the World Food Prize Foundation in 2010 as the Director of Communications.Her primary responsibilities include working with the media and partner organizations, implementing public relations and outreach efforts, overseeing and producing communications projects, and managing the web site and social media.

Megan has experience both as a communications director and as a journalist. She was a reporter for The Des Moines Register for five years, covering local, state and national education issues, as well as other governmental and general assignment stories. She most recently worked as the communications director for the Iowa Association of School Boards, an organization that provides resources and training to education leaders across the state.

Megan graduated from Drake University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication, a minor in Spanish and a concentration in political science. She studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain, and has traveled in Central and South America and much of Europe. She is involved in the community and remains interested in education, volunteering with elementary students struggling with reading skills. She is passionate about working for an international organization that contributes to solving global issues and recognizes scientific achievements.
